Books

Donating books is a great way to be involved with the Every 1 Reads initiative.  There are many ways you can do this—either in a big way or one book at a time!  Just be sure to secure new or gently used books.  Also, the books should be appropriate for young children.

  • Hold a book drive at your business, church or community organization.  Many organizations have made contests out of an Every 1 Reads Book Drive and even sponsored a school or organization to receive all the donated books.  It is possible to have a celebration at the school or organization when the books are presented.
  • Clean out your basement or big closet.  If you call (502) 625-0004 someone will collect the books you have put together and be sure they get to a needy location.
  • Purchase one new book and designate it to the Every 1 Reads initiative.  No contribution is too large or small to make a difference in a child’s life.
  • Collect funds in your business or organization to be used for Every 1 Reads books.  Ask employees to pay $1.00 a week to wear jeans on Friday—or simply ask employees to donate in general.  These funds can be donated directly to a school; community-based or faith-based organization for this purpose or someone can shop for you!  All funds collected are tax deductible.
